Meralco launches the 1st MTECH 2015, a 3 day
Technology and Innovation Summit, in a move that marks the company’s continued
push to create innovative solutions in the power industries for customer
service advancement.
MTECH culminates in a forum on Disruptive Technologies,
featuring innovations that change the power industry. MTECH 2015 is called
“Visioneering”, focusing on the creation of a future that opens new
opportunities for innovative solution to increase consumer interaction.
Meralco leaders spearheaded the inaugural MTECH forum, with
Meralco Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, Meralco President and CEO Oscar S. Reyes,
Meralco SVP and Head of Costumer retail Services and corporate communications
Alfredo S. Panlilio, and Meralco Chief Technology Adviser Gavin D. Barfield.
In his talk Barfield said “ Vision necessitates
transformation and Technology will play an integral part enabling this
transformation. In the past years, Meralco has put new technologies into its
system, but we know there is still more to be done.”
Executives from globally–renowned tech firms also flew in
to the country to talk about the revolutionary technologies challenging
traditional business models, including
IBM’s Scalable Solutions Architect and Master Inventor and Fellow Kerrie
L. Holley. His talk about “Rethink Disruption” focuses on the use of Disruptive
Technologies to spark progress in the country and uplift the lives of the
Filipinos.”
The event, which started June 24, features the New
Technologies and innovations Exhibit at the Meralco Lopez building Lobby, where
leading technology partner brands sush as Cisco, Citrix, Cloudera, Dell, Indra,
Landis + Gyr, Microsoft, GMS, Hitachi, Huawei, , IBM, Pay Maya, Safezone,
Salesforce, Samsung Business, Schneider Electric, Toshiba, Eisenpatt Solutions,
SAP and OPOWER showcase their latest product and services.
