White Cloak won UHac 2016 Manila Leg with 160K


   This UnionBank Hackathon 2016 or U:Hac 2016 event was attended by more than 300+ professionals and student or more than 60+ teams participants came from different company and universities.

    Started the Day 1 of Hackathon with over 400 attendees from participants and guests from UnionBank and other company. This are the people who create programs to make our life easier through an app we use on our devices.


    They also invited different speakers from various company such as PayMaya, Coins.PH, IBM, Lenddo and UnionBank. They talks about how they change the way of Financial Technology in banking and e-commerce.
   


    Participants are focus on their work and really determined to take home the title as the U:Hac 2016 champion.

   The UHac 2016 winning group will take home P80,000 while the 1st and 2nd runner up will have P60,000 and P40,000 each team. Prize money will doubled for a digital banking or financial technology related winning project!

   ON Day 2 participants are allowed to finish their program until 1PM and present their work to the judges by 2PM.

First Place : White Cloak 

    uBank is an app that utlitizes speech recognition and natural language processing to make telebanking more convenient, more cost-effective and more powerful. It also replaces the current Q&A verification system with fingerprint / touch ID and facial recognition when completing bank transactions.
    White Cloak won P160,000 plus P30,000 as a Special Prize from IBM Bluemix plus Cloud Credit from IPC.

Second place : Chibot 

    A Property View-R is a Virtual Reality Listing app for Foreclosed Properties. The app focuses on Real Estate and Cars. The app can be deployed via major App stores (App Store, Playstore). It also includes a VR walk-through of a Virtual Bank to familiarize customers of the different things you can do in a branch and also to promote the bank's ongoing promos or marketing campaigns. The property viewer will contain a "dibs/I'm Interested" button that submits the user's contact info, making it easier for the bank to contact new leads. This can help the bank increase its market reach faster. As for the users, this decreases guess work and logistics by cutting the need to go to the actual site just by experiencing the interactive photo-spheres and real-time 3D spaces that eventually speed up buyers' decision to buy or not. They take home P60,000.

Third Place : Static CJ

     To improve transactions between small business owners and consumers by implementing a cashless transaction system through mobile apps. Take Home P40,000.
