Globe bolster European presence and establishes new office and services

Serving millions of Filipinos living and working abroad, especially in Europe, Globe Telecom continues to transcend geographical borders with it's robust retail presence in the key overseas Filipino markets through its International Business Group (IBG), established operations in the continent and providing our countrymen with innovative and value-for-money communications services.

According to Globe Senior Vice President  Rizza Maniego-Eala, Globe is proud to serve the Filipino communities in Europe, composed of the permanent migrants, overseas workers and seaferer's as they find ways to keep in touch with their families in the Philippines.

Adhering to its commitment, Globe IBG recently broke ground in Spain as it established Globetel Internaconal European Espena S.L., one of the newest members of the Globe group of companies. It coincided with a grand launch in Madrid of its banner offer, the Globe Local Spain SIM, a prepaid mobile service powered by the partnership with Ingenium Outsourcing Services SLU , as well as DUO Spain. The establishment of the new foreign office of the Globe also solidifies the company's European presence as Spain becomes the eighth country in the world and third in Europe where Globe has robust retail presence; the United Kingdom (UK), Italy, United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Canada.

Spain-based Filipinos can now use the Globe local Spain SIM for their daily communication needs, having access to free Globe Spain-to-Globe Spain calls and texts. In additional, they can keep in touch with friends and family also in the european country as well as back home for as low as 7 euro cents/min. No other Spanish mobile operator offers such an affordable rate for calls to Globe and TM in the Philippines. It's now available at filipino stores and retailers in Spain. In the Philippines, it may be purchased for only P600 at Globe booths at international departure areas of NAIA 1, 2 and 3, Clark, Cebu, Davao and Kalibo airports. It must be used with an openline handset.

Likewise, DUO Spain is now available, with a spanish number assigned to a Philippine Globe or TM mobile. For just 19 euros/month. No need to worry about international long distance charges when calling the philippines. This is the six member of the DUO family that includes the USA, Korea, UK, Canada and Japan.

Filipino based in the other two european countries can now contact their families in the philippines as they now have their very own Globe Local UK SIM, which they can use to call and send text to Globe and TM number for only 10 pence. On the other hand, our kababayans can contact Globe and TM numbers in the country through their very own Globe Loyalty Italy SIM for as low as 5 euro cents - the lowest rate of any for any italian mobile operator.

Meanwhile, for the 400,000 filipinos working for the global maritime industry, especially those tranversing Europe, they can also avail of the Globe Seaferer SIM, which enables affordable calls for only US$0.20/min. and inexpensive text messages for as low as US$0.10/text. Eliminating the hassles of expensive satelite equipment and roaming subscriptions, it was recognized in early may by the Asia Pacific Stevie Awards by capturing the Bronze Award.
